Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon, Fremont (Zone 5) Waterway: Alameda Creek Watershed In the 1990s, Alameda County Flood Control & Water Conservation District turned 17 acres in Fremont into the Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon, a wetlands-based stormwater treatment system. At the on-site educational center, students learn about flood control and environmental stewardship.

ABOUT

The District plans, designs, constructs, and maintains Western Alameda County’s flood control systems such as natural creeks, channels, levees, pump stations, dams, and reservoirs. We also care for the natural environment through public outreach and enforcement of pollution control regulations governing our waterways.
