Save Up to 15% on Flood Insurance in Unincorporated Alameda County!
Since 1992, the District has voluntarily participated in the Community Rating System (CRS) program offered through FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This program allots credit to the District for providing better floodplain management than is required by NFIP’s standard guidelines.
The District’s hard work and dedicated participation in the CRS program means that residents of unincorporated areas within Alameda County can get a discount on flood insurance. If your property is located in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), you have been qualified by FEMA for a reduction of up to 15 percent on your flood insurance premium.
If you live in an SFHA, this discount should be automatically credited to you by your flood insurance agent. If you live in an SFHA and have no flood insurance, it is advisable to purchase flood insurance as soon as possible.
If you need to know which flood zone affects your property, please call us at 510-670-5480 and provide the property address and assessor’s parcel number (APN).
